Medical review policy

Chemist Prices publishes information about prescription and over-the-counter medications for a general audience. This page explains who prepares that content, who checks it, and what a review date on a page actually means.

Who writes our content

Medicine summaries on Chemist Prices are drafted from primary UK sources - MHRA product information, the NHS medicines A-Z and NICE guidance, together with NHS pricing data (the Drug Tariff and Prescription Cost Analysis) - by our editorial team, with the help of structured drafting tools. We do not invent dosing, warnings, or statistics that are not present in the underlying source.

Who reviews it

Pages that carry a reviewer credit have been checked by a licensed healthcare professional for accuracy and clarity before publication. Where a page does not yet show a named reviewer, review by a licensed professional is in progress and the reviewer will be identified once assigned (reviewer to be announced).

What "last reviewed" means

The "last reviewed" date on a page marks the most recent date a reviewer confirmed the page's medical content was accurate as written. It does not mean every fact on the page was re-checked against a live source that day, and it does not apply to pricing figures, which carry their own "estimate as of" date.

How often we review

Content tied to boxed warnings, controlled-substance status, or shortage status is checked whenever the underlying regulatory dataset refreshes. Broader monograph content is scheduled for re-review on a recurring basis, and any reader-reported error triggers an out-of-cycle check.
